Police have charged a man following the armed robbery of a Springwood fast-food restaurant last night, 27 September.
It will be alleged that just before midnight, a man with his face covered attended the Springwood Road restaurant and threatened the 24-year-old male employee with a knife, demanding money from the register.
The man then fled on foot with the stolen money along North Rochedale Road, where he was immediately arrested by patrolling officers.
It will be alleged that the man attempted to discard his face-covering and the cash upon sighting police, but both were subsequently located by officers nearby.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
A 34-year-old Norman Park man has now been charged with one count of armed robbery.
He is scheduled to appear at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court today, 28 September.

The operation will be locally led and centrally coordinated, leveraging the knowledge and experience of officers who know their communities best.
