Police investigate armed robbery at Surfers Paradise 30 November

Police have charged a 19-year-old man following an alleged armed robbery at a business in Surfers Paradise on November 29.

It will be alleged the man entered the chemist on Surfers Paradise Boulevard around 11.30pm armed with a bladed weapon and threatened staff, before stealing medications.

Police were called and located the offender a short while away at Surfers Paradise Beach, where they will allege, he tried to dump the contents of his bag in the surf.

Officers waded out into the water and arrested the man.

A 19-year-old Upper Coomera man has been charged with armed robbery.

He is expected to appear before the Southport Magistrates Court today, November 30.
