Police investigate armed robbery at Upper Coomera

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a hotel at Upper Coomera overnight.

Around 11.57pm two men, one armed with a bat like implement and the other with a machete, have smashed through glass doors of a Maudsland Road hotel to gain entry into the gaming area.

The hotel was closed at the time with no customers but there were staff members finishing up for the night.

The men confronted a 48-year-old male staff member and demanded he empty the content of the tills into a bag they were carrying.

The men fled the hotel with the money and were seen to get into a stolen 2005 Nissan Navara with Queensland registration plates 504 ZYO.

No one was physically injured in the incident.
