Police investigate Ascot Vale burglary

Moonee Valley Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a burglary and theft of motor vehicle in Ascot Vale in February.

It is believed an unknown male broke into an address on Churchill Avenue about 11pm on 11 February.

He stole a set of car keys from inside the premises then stole the white Mercedes sedan.

On 26 February the stolen vehicle was involved in a minor collision with two other cars on Box Forest Road in Fawkner about 1pm.

The driver of the stolen vehicle and the car he struck pulled into a nearby service station on the corner of Sydney Road.

The driver of the stolen vehicle did not exchange details with the other drivers and fled the scene in a taxi.

The male is described as aged in his mid-20s with black hair, moustache, a tattoo on his right leg and was wearing a gold chain, black jacket, black shirt, black shorts and black shoes.

Investigators have released an image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
