Police investigate assault in Ferntree gully

Transit Crime Investigation Unit Detectives Police are investigating after a man was assaulted at a bus stop in Ferntree Gully last month.

Investigators have been told that a 27-year-old man was standing at the bus stop with friends at the corner of Burwood Highway and Westly Street about 1.40pm.

It is believed a black Holden Commodore pulled over and an unknown man got out of his car and punched the victim to the face.

The offender fled the scene.

A Ferntree Gully man was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have released a digital image of a male they believe could assist them with their enquiries.

Detectives are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage.
