Police investigate attempted armed robbery at Algester

Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery at a convenience store in Algester on Monday night.

Just after midnight, a man approached a store on Algester Road and attempted to open the locked glass sliding doors. He was armed with a large kitchen knife with a red blade.

The man is described as Caucasian, between 170cm-180cm tall and was seen wearing black pants, a tanned coloured jacket and a full-face mask.

After unsuccessfully opening the doors, the man was seen walking towards Ridgewood Road.

No one was physically hurt in the incident.

Investigators are urging anyone who may recognise this man or has information to contact police.
