Police investigate attempted armed robbery at Deception Bay

Police are seeking community assistance to help identify three people who attempted to rob a bowls club in Deception Bay last night.

Just after 11pm, two men and a woman entered the Bayview Terrace club and demanded money, threatening a 62-year-old staff member with a knife and a firearm.

The three offenders were unable to obtain cash and fled the scene with a small quantity of alcohol.

The first male offender is described as 185cm tall wearing a ski mask, blue jeans and gloves armed with a handgun.

The second male offender is described as approximately 165cm tall with a New Zealand accent, ski mask, gloves and black track pants armed with a kitchen knife.

The female offender was wearing a ski mask and black leggings.

No one was physically harmed during the incident.

Investigators are urging anyone in the area with CCTV or dashcam footage, or who may have witnessed something, to contact police.
