Police investigate attempted armed robbery at Springfield

Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a ride-sharing service driver in Springfield last night.

Around 10.30pm, the 29-year-old male driver from Kallangur had dropped a passenger off at a Lakeside Avenue address when three men approached his vehicle and requested a ride.

The men then demanded property from the driver and one produced a handgun.

The driver managed to get away and the three men fled on foot.

One of the men is described as being in his late teens, Caucasian, slim to average build, of average height, with short brown hair and was wearing a white t-shirt.

Another is described as in his late teens, Caucasian and was wearing a dark coloured zip-up sports jacket and dark jeans or pants.

Police do not have a description of the third man.
