Police investigate Bass hit-run

Inverloch police are hoping to identify a vehicle they believe was involved in a hit-run collision that left a man with a broken leg last month.

Investigators have been told the 37-year-old man was located by a passer-by lying at the rear of his silver BMW coupe, which was parked on the side of Soldiers Road, Bass about 6.40pm on 31 July.

The Coronet Bay man was taken to hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police believe the man’s injuries may have been the result of a collision involving an unknown vehicle, possibly a 1990 to 2000 model BMW E36.

The colour of the vehicle is unknown; however, it’s believed the car may have sustained damage to the front driver’s side indicator.

Investigators have released images of similar vehicles in the hope that someone may have seen such a car in the area on the day.

Anyone with information regarding a BMW E36 with a damaged or recently repaired indicator, or anyone who may have dash cam footage of a similar vehicle in the area at the time of the collision is urged to come forward.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or file a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
