Police investigate Blind Bight stabbing

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a stabbing in Blind Bight last night (20 July).

Officers received multiple reports of a Nissan Pulsar seen driving erratically in the area from about 9.45pm.

It is understood one of the witnesses who called police followed the offending car for some distance before both vehicles came to a stop on the corner of South Gippsland Highway and Baxter-Tooradin Road.

An altercation occurred, with the victim, who was a passenger in the second vehicle, sustaining a stab wound.

He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The female driver of the car was not injured.

The driver of the offending vehicle fled the scene.

Police are yet to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident and the investigation is ongoing.

The offending vehicle is described as a white or grey Nissan Pulsar hatchback with registration DYP 781.
