Police investigate burglaries at sporting venues around Bendigo region

Goldfields Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating several burglaries at sporting/recreation facilities, which occurred in the Bendigo region over the past three weeks.

It is believed the same offenders are targeting pools and sporting complexes in the region and stealing items including electronic equipment.

Towns including Castlemaine, Wedderburn, Boort and Lockington have been targeted.

The first burglary occurred at a swimming pool on Lake Augusta Road in Castlemaine on 6 February and it was again broken into between 7.30am on Monday 25 February and 12pm on Tuesday 26 February.

Investigators believe the same offenders are responsible for a burglary at a swimming pool in Lockington on Saturday 16 February at 4.20am where cash and electronic equipment was stolen.

On this occasion the offenders fled in a white SUV.

Investigators have released images of the vehicle in the hope that someone may recognise it or its owners
