Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in Corio this morning.
Police were called to an address in Chaffey Square about 4.50 am after reports that a firearm had been discharged.
On arrival police located a man in his 30s with injuries to his upper body.
He was taken to hospital in a critical condition but later died.
No arrests have been made and the investigation continues.
