Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in Dandenong North this evening.
Emergency services were called to an address in Ashby Drive about 7.20pm.
On arrival police found an unresponsive man in the property.
The man, who is yet to be formally identified, sadly died at the scene.
A 46-year-old Dandenong North man has been taken into custody and is assisting police with their enquiries.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are yet to be determined and investigations are ongoing.
It is understood the parties are known to each other.
