Police investigate East Melbourne aggravated burglary

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating an aggravated burglary in East Melbourne last month.

The occupants of a Hotham Street address woke up on 28 July and noticed that clothing from their clothesline were strewn all over the backyard and a handbag was missing from the house.

A credit card from the handbag had been used at 3am that morning in Jolimont, Abbottsford and Richmond.

Investigators have released images of two men they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The first man is described as having a medium build, approximately 40-45-years-old, short hair, clean shaven and was wearing a black ‘NYC’ hoodie, black tracksuit pants and runners.

The second man is described as having a thin build, 35-45-years-old, short hair, auburn facial hair and moustache and was wearing a green baseball cap, black puffer jacket, black tracksuit pants and grey runners.

Anyone who recognises this man or has information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
