Police investigate firearm discharge in West Launceston

Northern CIB are investigating reports of two shots being fired at a house in Connaught Crescent, West Launceston last night.

Police were called to the scene about 7.20pm last night. There was one occupant of the house home at the time and no one was injured.

A maroon early model Commodore sedan was seen leaving the scene at speed and in a northerly direction along Connaught Crescent immediately after the incident with two occupants on board.

Uniform and CIB attended the scene where it was identified two shots had been fired at the house causing damage to the top pane of a front window.

A full examination of the scene was conducted by Forensics. Northern CIB will continue to investigate the incident.

Police are appealing to the public for any information relating to the incident or who may have seen the red Commodore shortly afterwards.
