Police investigate Geelong collision

Police are investigating a collision between a car and pedestrian which occurred in Geelong this afternoon.

Officers have been told a 6-year-old boy and a 8-year-old boy were crossing Munday Street about 3.30pm.

As they were crossing a car travelling west along Munday Street has hit the 6-year-old.

The car stopped and the female driver exited the car for a short time before returning to the vehicle and driving off down Yarra Street.

The boy has been taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
