Police investigate indecent assault at serious assault – Collingwood Park

Detectives are appealing for public assistance to identify a man captured in closed circuit television footage in Collingwood Park as they investigate the indecent assault of a woman yesterday morning.

At 4.20am on March 16, the woman was walking along Collingwood Drive when a man passed her as he walked in the opposite direction.

As the man passed her, he turned around and indecently grabbed her.

When the woman challenged him for his actions, he proceeded to verbally abuse her before he walked away.

The woman called for a man known to her to collect her and when they spotted the offender further along Collingwood Drive, they confronted him.

The offender then punched the man approximately half a dozen times, causing cuts and bruising, before he left in an unknown direction.

As depicted in the vision, he is described as Caucasian, 30-40 years old, wearing a red cap, a flannelette jacket, jeans and thongs.

There were a number of workers and cars moving in the area at the time of the incidents.

Police appeal for anyone who recognises him or who man have CCTV or dashcam footage of the area at the time is to make contact.
