Police investigate Maribyrnong aggravated burglary

Police are appealing for public assistance following an aggravated burglary that left a man with serious head injuries in Maribyrnong early this morning.

Investigators have been told that up to six males forced entry to a house on Fabian Court via the rear door about 3.45am.

Once inside, the male resident was confronted by the offenders and it is believed he was hit to the head with a golf club.

The offenders, who are perceived to be African in appearance, fled the scene in a white Mercedes-Benz stolen from the address.

The victim, aged in his 50s, remains in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A woman and an eight-year-old girl were also home at the time and were not injured.

Wayward Taskforce detectives are investigating and have released a similar image of the stolen 2017 white Mercedes-Benz B class, registration 1JC 1SV in the hope someone recognises it.
