Police investigate Melbourne CBD stabbing and armed robbery

Yarra Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a stabbing and armed robbery in Melbourne’s CBD last night.

It is alleged two men were approached by two girls on the corner of Swanston and Little Lonsdale streets about 11.35pm.

One of the girls allegedly stabbed an 18-year-old man and stole his phone.

The man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It is alleged the other girl threatened to stab the other man if he did not buy her some food.

He was not injured.

Police were told the two girls fled the scene on foot, before being arrested nearby.

They are assisting police with their enquiries.

Investigations are ongoing into the exact circumstances around the incident.
