Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a firearms incident which is believed to have occurred in the eastern suburbs this evening.
Officers were called to an address in Donne Court, Mooroolbark after reports that a firearm may have been discharged.
Members attended the address and detained four people.
A short time later a man attended a local hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg.
Police are yet to ascertain how the man sustained his injuries or where the initial incident occurred.
The investigation is ongoing.
