Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a garage fire in Oakleigh East overnight.
Emergency services were called to an address in Sunshine Street following reports a residential garage was on fire on Wednesday 16 March about 4am.
The blaze caused moderate damage to the garage and a crime scene has been set up.
Seven occupants inside the attached residence were evacuated including a 93-year-old man who was taken to hospital for observation.
Monash Crime Investigation unit detectives will attend the scene this morning.
