Police investigate ram raid at Skipton

Police are appealing for public assistance and are hoping to identify three men following a ram raid at Skipton early this morning.

A white Holden utility was used to ram the front glass doors of a service station on the Glenelg Highway just before 4.30am.

Once inside, the three male offenders, all wearing black clothing, stole a cabinet containing cigarettes.

The same white utility was found later this morning burnt out nearby on Daly Road about 6.25am.

It is believed a second vehicle, a dark coloured sedan with one headlight, may have also been used in the incident.

Warrnambool Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating and have released images of three men that may be able to assist with their enquiries.

It is believed the offenders also used a stolen cordless angle-grinder with the name Ivan written on the angle grinder and George inscribed on the battery and investigators have released images in the hope someone recognises them.
