Police investigate robbery at Croydon Railway Station

Transit Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance as they investigate a robbery at Croydon Railway Station last month.

Investigators believe a 42-year-old man was waiting for a bus when he was approached by an unknown man about 5.15am on Wednesday, 19 August.

The man assaulted the victim and stole his backpack before fleeing in an unknown direction.

The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the incident and was transported to hospital for treatment.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to the incident and have released images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The man is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 30s, and had a distinctive haircut with shaved sides and a goatee style beard.
