Police investigate serious assault at Capalaba

Police are seeking witnesses to a dispute between the drivers of two vehicles in Capalaba this afternoon which resulted in an elderly man being allegedly assaulted.

At around 4pm a 71-year-old man drove his gunmetal grey VW Amarok dual cab ute to the intersection of Redland Bay Road and Neuman Road.

It is then alleged that the occupants of a white Kia Cerato, a man and woman, exited their vehicle and approached him.

A verbal exchange occurred between the elderly man and the woman as he sat in his vehicle, before her male companion allegedly punched him a number of times through the driver’s side window.

Police were called to the scene where the located the 71-year-old man with obvious facial injuries.

Investigators are appealing for any witnesses to the altercation, or anyone who may have dashcam from the time of the incident to come forward.
