Police investigate serious assault at Clayfield

Police are investigating an incident in Clayfield last night after a man sustained a wound to his torso.

At 7.50pm, two men arrived at an address on Alma Road where a verbal altercation ensued with a resident of the address.

The male resident then sustained an injury to his stomach, consistent with being a gunshot wound.

The 43-year-old injured man was treated at the scene before being transported to hospital for treatment to a non-life-threatening wound.

Police were notified and attended the address where a crime scene was declared as detectives work to determine the details around the incident.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
