Police investigate serious assault at Kingston

Police are investigating the serious assault of three people at Kingston last night.

Around 11.20pm, a 20-year-old Kingston man let his dog into the front-yard of his Anchusa Street property, where it and another dog became involved in a fight.

The 20-year-old attempted to break up the fight by pushing the other dog away with his foot prompting the owner of the second dog, who was not known to the 20-year-old, to punch him once in the mouth and once to the eye.

The 20-year-old man retaliated and hit the man back and a few more punches were exchanged before the man fled on foot towards Velorum Drive.

Approximately 15 minutes later, the man returned to the address with a crowbar and hit a 49-year-old woman at the address in the forearm. The man then left again on foot towards Velorum Drive.

After another 15 minutes, the man returned again with the crowbar, this time in the company of a woman.

He proceeded to assault a second woman at the address, a 24-year-old by hitting her with the crowbar on the nose, the back of her head and her shoulder.

She was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment to serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The pair left on foot, this time running towards Shiraz Court.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area at the time to please contact them or who may have CCTV of the street.

Investigations are continuing.
