Police investigate serious assault at One Mile

Two men and a teenager have been charged after police were called to a disturbance at One Mile last night.

At 8.15pm, four people attended a Shine Street residence when a physical disturbance occurred involving a machete and baseball bats.

During the incident, police will allege the group assaulted a 38-year-old man who sustained serious damage to his wrist.

Police will allege the man’s car, which contained his teenage son, then had its passenger window smashed before the vehicle’s keys were stolen.

The man and his son were able to run to safety at a nearby residence before the man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment, where he remains.

Police will allege the group then fled the scene in a Holden Commodore.

Polair tracked the Commodore to outside a convenience store on Pine Mountain Road at Brassall where two people were located at 8.45pm.

A 29-year-old man was located with a laceration to his chest and was attended to by QAS before being taken to the Ipswich watchhouse. Additionally, a 38-year-old man was taken into custody where the car was located.

A 15-year-old boy was later arrested at an address in Leichardt at 11.15pm.

All three have been charged with grievous bodily harm, wilful damage and enter premises.

Both men will appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court tomorrow (November 22).

Investigations are ongoing to identify others believed to be involved in the dispute.
