Police investigate serious assault atSemaphore, South Australia

Police are investigating a serious assault at Semaphore early this morning.

Just after 3am on Thursday 21 October, police responded to reports that a man had been shot at a home on Woolnough Road.

When police arrived, they discovered that two men had allegedly attended the home and assaulted and stabbed the occupant. A 22-year-old man sustained facial injuries and a laceration to his head and hand. He was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment however his injuries are not considered life threatening.

A witness heard the commotion and attempted to intervene after seeing the victim lying injured on the driveway and two men running off.

One suspect has then discharged what is believed to be a pellet gun, striking the witness in the chest and causing minor bruising. The two men have then left the scene in a vehicle.

Investigations have led police to a home at Para Hills where the suspect vehicle has been located. Patrols have currently set up cordons around the area. One man has been arrested and police are negotiating with a second man.

This is not a random incident.
