Police investigate serious crash at Forcett

Police are investigating a serious two vehicle crash at Forcett this morning.

Just before 8am, emergency services were called to a serious two vehicle crash on the Arthur Highway approximately 500 metres north-west of the Inala Road Junction.

The drivers involved were a 27-year-old woman from Geilston Bay, and a 53-year-old woman from Primrose Sands. Both women were injured as a result of the crash and were conveyed to the Royal Hobart Hospital in a stable condition.

Forensic Services and Crash Investigation Services attended the scene and have commenced an investigation into the cause of the crash. Initial indications suggest that weather conditions were a contributing factor.

Acting Inspector Duffey would like to remind motorists to “slow down, drive to the conditions and be safe on Tasmanian roads.”

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash cam footage which could assist crash investigators, is asked to contact Sergeant Sharmaine Ward at Sorell Police Station on 131 444.
