Fawkner Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a sexual assault in Brunswick in June.
Investigators have been told an unknown man approached a woman at a licensed venue on Sydney Road and sexually assaulted her around 2.30am on 19 June.
Investigators have released images and CCTV of a man who may be able to assist with their enquiries.
The offender is described as Caucasian in appearance, between 25-30 years old, with a stocky build, and short hair.
He was wearing a baseball cap turned backwards, jeans, a long-sleeved top and white trainers.
