Police investigate Shepparton firearms incident

Shepparton Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a firearms incident which occurred in Shepparton on 25 October.

Investigators have been told a dark-coloured Holden Commodore sedan and a dark-coloured Volkswagen Golf hatch were seen travelling at high speed along Numurkah Road about 2.40am.

Both cars stopped near Grutzner Avenue and two occupants of the Holden exited their vehicle and approached the Volkswagen.

It’s alleged one of the occupants of the Volkswagen threatened the people from the Holden with a firearm before the Golf drove off.

Investigators believe the same Volkswagen was then involved in another incident where a silver Volkswagen Golf and its occupants were followed and threatened with a firearm on Numurkah Road.

Detectives have released images of the two vehicles and their occupants as they believe they may be able to help with their investigation.

The occupants of the Holden Commodore and the dark-coloured Volkswagen Golf are yet to be identified and investigators wish to speak to anyone who has further information about the incidents or who has dashcam footage.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
