Police investigate stabbing in Dandenong

Transit Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following a stabbing in Dandenong on 28 October.

A man boarded a bus about 4pm in Doveton and got involved in a verbal altercation with school aged children on the bus.

A 17-year-old boy then boarded the bus with his friend as it arrived at Clow Street in Dandenong.

The offender and the teenager’s friend got into a physical altercation.

The offender produced a sharp item as the fight moved from the bus to the bus stop outside.

The teenager attempted to stop the fight between his friend and the offender when he was stabbed by the man, who then fled on foot toward Dandenong Plaza.

The Dandenong teenager was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The offender is described as Caucasian, 170cm tall, approximately 30-years-old with dark hair with a small tribal like star on the back of his left hand.

Investigators have released CCTV and images of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.
