Police investigate stabbing in Granville

Police are investigating after a man was stabbed in Sydney’s west this morning.

About 7am (Wednesday 10 July 2019), police were called to a home on Clyde Street, Granville where a man had suffered multiple stab wounds to his body.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended, and the man was transported to Westmead Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

It is believed the man was involved in an altercation with another man, who left the scene before the arrival of emergency services. It is not known if the two men were known to each other.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man’s injuries.

Crime scenes were established, which were examined by specialist forensic officers. A number of items have been seized for forensic examination.
