Police Investigate Tarneit Shooting

Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad are investigating following an incident in Tarneit last night where it appears three men were injured.

Police were initially called to Friendship Place shortly before 11.50pm on Tuesday, 19 March following reports of gunshots.

A search of the immediate area was conducted, however no one could be located.

A short time later, police received reports of a man with what was believed to be gunshot wounds to his upper body at a business on Derrimut Road in Tarneit.

The 23-year-old Truganina man was subsequently conveyed to hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Emergency services were then called just after 1am this morning to an address on Tarneit Road in Tarneit.

Paramedics treated a 25-year-old Tarneit man for a hand injury and he was also conveyed to hospital.

A 28-year-old Tarneit man then self presented to a Melbourne hospital just before 3am with an arm injury.

Police believe both of these men was involved in the previous incident on Friendship Place.

At this time, police believe an altercation took place between two groups however the exact circumstances in relation to the shooting are still being determined.

Detectives are treating the incident as targeted and the parties involved are known to each other.

The investigation remains ongoing and anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to come forward.

Police are also keen to speak to anyone who may have been travelling through the area and has dash-cam footage.
