Police Investigate Upskirting On Tram In Melbourne

Transit Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance to identify a man following an upskirting incident on a tram in Melbourne’s CBD last month.

Police have been told the 11-year-old victim was on her way to school onboard the route 57 tram, seated opposite an unknown man, between 8.25-8.45am.

Investigators have been told the man took inappropriate images of the girl before disembarking the tram at the intersection of Errol and Queensberry streets in North Melbourne.

The girl continued to school where she reported the matter and police were subsequently notified.

Investigators have released a digital composite image of a man they believe could assist with their enquiries.

He is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, approximately 20-30 years old with slightly curly blond shoulder length hair.

He was seen wearing a knitted burnt orange and brown jumper with jeans.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that could assist police in identifying the man is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
