Forest Hill police are investigating two thefts from a hardware store in Vermont South in January and February.
It is believed a man attended the store on Burwood Highway between 3.30pm and 4pm on 28 January.
The man selected a Honda petrol blower and left the store without paying.
On 3 February it is believed the same man returned to the store between 4.50pm and 5pm.
Investigators have been told the man selected the same Honda product and left the store without paying.
Investigators have released two images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
