Police investigate West Footscray theft from motor vehicle

Police are investigating following a theft from a motor vehicle and deceptions in West Footscray last week.

It is believed an unknown offender broke into a parked vehicle in the carpark of a railway station on Sunshine Road about 6pm on 25 March.

Police were told a debit card was stolen from the parked vehicle.

A man, believed to be the same offender, was then seen on CCTV footage using the stolen debit card twice at a local Barkley Street business, once on 25 March, then again on 26 March.

He is perceived to be Caucasian, around 20-30 years old with short brown hair.

He also has a distinctive tribal tattoo on his left thigh.

On the 25 March, the male was seen wearing a bright blue Nike Air jacket with a black puffer jacket and black Nike hoodie underneath.

He was also wearing blue jeans and distinctive black Adidas slides with a gold emblem.

On the 26 March, he was seen to be wearing a black North Face puffer jacket, black shorts, sunglasses and the same distinctive black Adidas slides.

Investigators have releases CCTV footage of a man they hope can assist with their enquiries.

Police are also investigating possible links to a number of other aggravated burglaries, theft from motor vehicles, burglaries and deceptions in the West Footscray area.
