Police investigating New Norfolk burglaries

Tasmania Police is investigating three burglaries reported at addresses in George St, New Norfolk overnight.
Several police units attended one of the addresses at around 5am after a woman reported a man breaking into the gun safe in her shed.
The man fled with four firearms after being disturbed by the woman. She was not injured.
The stolen firearms include two rifles and two shotguns, and all are registered.
No ammunition was stolen.
“Anyone who noticed anyone acting suspiciously in the New Norfolk area in the early hours of this morning or who has information that could assist the police investigation is urged to come forward,” Inspector Philippa Burke said.
“This is a serious matter and we believe there are members of the community who either know the people responsible, or who may have been offered the stolen firearms.”
“The New Norfolk community is encouraged to help us recover the stolen items as soon as possible.”
