Police investigating road rage incident in Eastern Creek

Police are investigating after a man was stabbed during a road rage incident in Sydney’s west this morning.

Officers attached to Mt Druitt Police Area Command attended Mt Druitt Hospital about 5.40am (Wednesday 14 April 2021), after a 48-year-old man presented with stab wounds to his back.

Police have been told, the man and a 24-year-old male passenger, were driving a ‘Thrifty’ rental Pantech truck south along Wallgrove Road, Eastern Creek, when they were involved in a verbal altercation with the male driver of a dark coloured sedan.

At the intersection of Wallgrove Road and Wonderland Drive, both drivers got out and during a physical altercation the sedan driver produced a knife, stabbing the older man in the back.

The injured man drove himself to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

As inquiries continue to identify the male driver and dark coloured sedan involved, investigators are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area or may have dashcam vision to contact Mt Druitt Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
