Police investigating robbery at burglary and unlawful use of motor vehiclein Brisbane to Sunshine Coast

Police are investigating a series of offences linked to an armed robbery at McCullough Street, Macgregor on Sunday, April 10.

At about 8.30pm, two men approached a 23-year-old man, who was parked at a football club, threatening him with what appeared to be a gun and stealing his Mitsubishi Lancer.

The vehicle is linked to a burglary that occurred after 11pm, April 10 where a house in Ross Crescent, Sunshine Beach was broken into and a wallet stolen.

The offenders are believed to have used a credit card from the wallet to pay for fuel at a Noosaville service station shortly after 2am.

Investigations indicate the vehicle was also used around 2.20am at a Peregian Beach service station where an offender smashed the front window with a fire extinguisher, then attempted to force entry to the cigarette cabinet, fleeing in the stolen car.

Police have then linked the vehicle to a break in at a tobacconist in Birtwill Street, Coolum Beach. A man has gained entry by smashing a front window using a fire extinguisher, stealing cigarette lighters and a knife, then leaving in the stolen vehicle.

A review of available CCTV footage from these investigations shows the male from the stolen vehicle wearing a red cap and black jacket. Another male is seen in the vehicle.

Investigators urge anyone with information or who has CCTV footage or dash cam footage from around these incidents to contact police.
