Police investigating robbery at Woodroffe

Northern Territory Police are calling on local residents with CCTV or motorists with dashcams to review footage following an incident in Woodroffe this afternoon.

Around 2:30pm, a young Aboriginal man who was possibly wearing an ankle monitor entered a shop on Baldwin Drive and threatened a female employee with an edged weapon. The employee handed over a sum of cash before the man fled on foot through a nearby park.

The offender is described as approximately 160-170cm tall, dark skin and wearing dark clothing. It is believed he may have been loitering in the immediate vicinity of the shops shortly before the robbery took place.

Detective Active Senior Sergeant Gavin Hopwood said, “A search is underway in the area and we are asking residents to report any unusual activity to police.”
