Townsville Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating after a man was located injured at a Railway Estate address this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to a Perkins Street property just before 1.30pm, after a 38-year-old South Townsville man was located unconscious with a gunshot wound to his buttocks.
He was transported to Townsville University Hospital in a serious condition.
A crime scene has been declared at the address.
Investigations are ongoing into the circumstances of the incident.
Detectives appeal to anyone with information, CCTV or dashcam footage in the vicinity of Perkins Street between 12am and 1.30pm today, May 13, to come forward.
