Police investigating wounding at Beaconsfield

Police are seeking information regarding an incident in Beaconsfield last night, Friday 17 January 2020, in which a man was seriously injured.

About 9:05pm Police were called to a residence in Doig Place, Beaconsfield, in relation to a man that had been seriously injured.

It was established a man attended the residence to speak to a woman who is known to him. After a period of time the visiting man was asked to leave by a male relative of the woman.

The visiting man became violent. He struck the male victim with a knife, causing a laceration injury to his throat.

The offender fled the scene. Police and St John Ambulance were called to the residence.

The victim, a 39-year-old man, was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital by ambulance, where it is expected he will undergo surgery today.

Inquiries are continuing to locate the man involved.
