Police investigating wounding at Gold Coast 4 February

Police are investigating following an alleged wounding incident that occurred at Highland Park last night, February 3.

Initial information indicates at approximately 8pm, two men who are not known to each other became involved in an altercation at a shopping centre carpark along Explorers Way.

A 31-year-old Highland Park man sustained a non-life threatening wound to his back and was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

A 42-year-old Highland Park man sustained a non-life threatening wound to his face and was also transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

Police attended and took a 66-year-old Highland Park man into custody.

He has been charged with two counts of wounding and one count of possessing a knife in a public place.

He has been denied police bail and is expected to appear at Southport Magistrates Court on February 5.
