Police investigating wounding at Helensvale 25 August

Police have arrested three people after the wounding of a 57-year-old security guard at Helensvale this morning.

Around 7.45am police were called to a Millaroo Drive shopping centre following reports of a disturbance during which the male security guard sustained a number of stab wounds.

Those involved fled the scene in a stolen black Holden Trax.

Police tracked the vehicle which was intercepted at Distillery Road at Beenleigh around 8.35am with three people taken into custody.

The security guard has been transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Investigations have begun into the incident and a crime scene has been declared.
