Police investigating wounding at Mount Isa

Police have charged a 22-year-old Mount Isa woman following an alleged unlawful wounding assault at a Mount Isa address in the early hours of this morning (May 13).

Police will allege the 22-year-old stabbed a 34-year-old man in the leg with scissors following a verbal altercation.

The man and woman are known to each other.

The 34-year-old was transported to the Mount Isa Base Hospital and a crime scene was established.

The 22-year-old woman was subsequently charged with unlawful wounding (Domestic Violence Offence), denied police bail and is due to appear in the Mount Isa Magistrates Court later today.
