Police Investigating Wounding Incident At Karawatha

Police have arrested a boy following a wounding at Karawatha this morning, 14 July.

Initial investigations indicate that around 11:45am an altercation occurred between two teenage boys, known to each other, at an education facility on the corner of Acacia Road and Compton Road, with one sustaining life-threatening injuries.

The 17-year-old boy was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.

Upon arrival, officers were initially unable to locate the second boy; however, following enquiries, he was later located in a vehicle on Gowan Road, Stretton.

The 16-year-old boy is now assisting police with enquiries.

There is no ongoing threat to the public.

Investigators are appealing to anyone with relevant information or CCTV/dashcam footage from the Karawatha area to come forward.
