Police lay armed robbery charges at Pacific Pines

Police have charged two people after the alleged assault and robbery of an 18-year-old man in Pacific Pines last night (May 11).

Initial information suggests around 7pm a man exited his vehicle in the car park of a Pitcairn Way address.

It will be alleged a group with one male armed with a machete, confronted the man.

It is further alleged the man was assaulted a number of times before the group fled.

The man was taken to the Robina Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police arrested four people at the same location a short time later.

It is believed the two parties are known to each other.

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with one count each of armed robbery and wounding and two counts of possession of a dangerous drug.

A 17-year-old girl has been charged with one count each of armed robbery and wounding.

Investigations are ongoing.
