Police lay charges after investigation into fatal crash

A woman has been charged following a fatal single vehicle crash in the state’s south.

Around 1.30pm on Sunday 16 July 2023, emergency services were called to the Sturt Highway, Darlington Point, following reports of a single vehicle crash.

Officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District attended and found the passenger of a utility – a 58-year-old man – had died at the scene.

The driver of the Toyota Hilux – a 54-year-old woman – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Griffith Base Hospital with minor injuries.

Police established a crime scene which was forensically examined by specialist police.

Following extensive investigations, the woman issue Future Court Attendance Notice for Negligent Driving (occasioning death) today (7 August 2023).

The Aranda woman is due to appear before Griffith Local Court on Wednesday 20 September 2023.
