Police lay charges after near collision in Woolloomooloo

A man has been charged with drug offences after a near crash involving an unmarked police car in inner Sydney.

About 10pm yesterday (Thursday 25 June 2020), officers attached to Kings Cross Police Area Command were travelling on Bourke Street, Woolloomooloo, when they had a near collision with the driver of a Nissan Patrol.

Police stopped the vehicle and during a subsequent search allegedly located $16,000 cash and 9g of cocaine.

The 24-year-old driver, a Malaysian national, was arrested and taken to Kings Cross Police Station.

He was charged with Supply prohibited drug (between indictable and commercial quantity), and deal with property proceeds of crime (less than $100,000).

He was refused bail to face court today (Friday 26 June 2020).
